A call is the invitation that God gives to people. The call of God to salvation is for everyone. But God has also chosen certain people to serve him in special ways. This choice is a "call" or "vocation," such as a call to become a pastor or a missionary. As a verb, to call means to invite someone. God calls all Christians to serve him.
